I don’t know how else to explain McCain’s recent comments. As much as I despise both of these idiots, sometimes, their statements are just beyond the pale of reason. But McCain actually claimed that Obama’s shift on his opinions regarding Iraq amounted to “pandering.” If I am not mistaken, THAT IS WHAT BOTH OF THEM ARE DOING. Here is what McCain actually said, “Behind all of these claims and positions by Senator Obama lies the ambition to become President.” Now anyone paying any attention whatsoever could realize that McCain could also be said to be running for President, unless I have missed something in the news, and McCain is no longer in the running. Is McCain actually saying his ambition is NOT to become President? For crying out loud, all the Democrats would have to do to make the exact same attack against McCain would be to substitute the name “McCain” for “Obama” in that statement, and it would be just as true.
But the fact that the attacks by either party are so pathetic, and in deed moronic shows us all we need to know about politics and campaigns. Facts are totally irrelevant, emotion is the key that drives people to vote. And all too often, we do not vote so much for someone as against another. Or we vote for what we are told to believe are in our best interests, when ”special interests” are the true winners of any election. You don’t honestly think all of these companies contribute so much money to respective political organizations is done to benefit the public at large, do you? Of course, not, politicians are an investment.
So why do so may have such faith in their party? Ignorance, sometimes willful ignorance seems to be the answer. I keep hearing how the Democrats are going to raise taxes and ruin the U.S. financially, and it seems a bit odd that the only recent President to have a Budget Surplus was the dreaded Bill Clinton. All of the others in recent memory back to Reagan had budget deficits, yet no one seems to remember this. As to how on earth the Republicans are the party of fiscal responsibility and small government, few seem to question this very obvious flaw. I cannot untangle the illogical statements like those, icluding statements saying that if we vote for a Democratic candidate, somehow the enemies will all attack. If I am not mistaken, our current President was in power on 9-11, yet no one notices this either. In the words of Mugatu, I feel like I’m taking crazy pills.
But I have to remind myself, our system is so broken, so corrupt, and the majority of citizens seem to be unaware of all of the things done to a country whose ideal was “Live Free or Die.” Now, the only ones free to act as they want seem to be the government, and the corporations that own our government.
The link below is for a song from a while back, and if you can decipher the lyrics, it actually does pertain to the above posting.
