Francine Busby was having a political fund raiser at a friends house, and you know how out of control those parties can get. So naturally, the police responded to a noise complaint by using pepper spray on senior citizens, and even arresting some of them. It turns out the initial complaint came from someone who was, well, less than tolerant of the fact that Busby has a partner that is a woman.
The neighbor was evidently too lazy to burn a cross on the lawn of the house where the fundraiser tool place, and so he simply called for the long arm and empty head of the law. Responding officers insist that the senior citizens were some sort of a threat to the officers, as they apparently forgot to bring anything except pepper spray and handcuffs. Look out officer, someone is about to hit you with their AARP card!
Officers also insist that when asked about her age, Busby refused to answer. Refused to answer, my God, why didn’t they call the SWAT team?

What is wrong with the police/sheriff/whatever, I have been to more than a few parties that were broken up, and in those cases, nothing more than a loud voice used to break the party up. And in those cases, it actually WAS late, and we, being dumb kids, were being too loud.
Pepper spraying senior citizens, way to go assh*les.
Francine Busby may or may not be a great candidate, I honestly couldn’t say, but what the police now think is an appropriate response should scare all of us. From tasering people in their cars for “non-compliance” to pepper spraying a group of political fundraisers in a home, I suppose we should be grateful that they didn’t just bring shotguns and start shooting people.
The “Us versus Them” mindset is a dangerous one if allowed to flourish within the police departments, and while law enforcement must always be on their toes guarding themselves, should that really mean they are stepping on us for almost any reason whatsoever?

yeah, just when I wanted to avoid the news because the power of the rethugs is getting to me even though they keep losing elections it hits my home town.
well all politics is local Nunya, especially the politics of fear.
